We see healing as a continuous process of self discovery, an unravelling that provides clarity and opportunity. It's the re-balance in the face of awakening and a course correction. It is a sense of ease and harmony with our most authentic selves in a society that is ever changing.
Within a world fractured by centuries of systemic oppression, individuals cannot effectively heal without focus on repair. Our work aims to increase understanding and build tools to address wounds carried by individuals and communities. Intersectional Healing helps embrace both truths; collectively we can do the work to dismantle forms of oppression whilst fostering deep, transformative healing that spans different intersections of identity.
Intersectional Healing highlights systemic leadership in socially responsible strategies and practises.
Intersectional Healing Collective helps organisations transform culture by bringing together intersectionality, care and wellbeing. We believe lasting change happens when people, systems and leadership evolve together.
Drawing from our global expertise in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB), Coaching and Healing practices became a natural way to craft innovative cultural change programmes and building a bridge into traditional consulting approach as we experienced a gap between organisational equity and individual healing. We saw that programs lacked unity and harmony and wanted to create our own standard, which become the IHC Model, to nurture healing within organisations and communities.
Throughout our years in DEIB consulting, we were constantly faced the reality of people being born to a world with systems of oppression built in. We sensed the responsibility on all of us to actively work together to find freedom from that inheritance and the negative social constructs that came with it.
We started to look to the pre-colonial past as a place of inspiration that centred healing and found joy in exploring approaches that support individual healing across the intersections of our identities.
It became a progressive and liberatory way to build something, the Intersectional Healing Collective; to support organisations meaningfully, to reimagine a work place with a better socially responsible strategy. Our commitment to building a culture of care - for the present, and the future.
As the visionary Bell Hooks once said: "healing is an act of communion."
Inspired by this wisdom we decided to actively centre connection and collaboration for healing.
This is why we are a collective; we bring people together as one, working towards the goal of intersectional healing, for ourselves, for our organisations and for society.
Together we lead systemic change that prioritises collective care, as the foundation for culture of care.
Compassion, empathy and continuous learning advances social justice.
Our values lead the way in how we show up: they’re our own seeds for change.
